UPDATE from GEARS about COVID-19
Our Preschool, Kindergarten and Before & After School Child Program is open from 6 am-6 pm. The link to our program is gearskids.org.
12/11/2020: New State Order, GEARS Recreation Programs Suspended
On Thursday, December 11, 2020, Governor Wolf announced further action to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and associated health hazards presented by the virus. This Order went into effect on Saturday, December 12 at 12:01 am and expires on Monday, January 4 at 8:00 am. During this time, in-person activities at GEARS and its facilities are suspended until January 4, 2021 when our programs will resume. Our child care services held within the Elizabethtown Area School District and GEARS Community Center will continue to be provided without interruption as long as schools are in session.
Based on the Order, the impact to GEARS is as follows:
* Indoor operations at gyms and fitness facilities are prohibited.
* Indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 people prohibited (GEARS may hold some activities virtually)

11/18/2020: Updated Order of the Secretary of PA Dept of Health Requiring Universal Face Coverings
Please be advised that the PA Department of Health amended its Order requiring universal face coverings. This Order is effective and enforceable as of November 18, 2020 and will remain in effect until the PA Secretary of Health determines public health risk is sufficiently reduced. Below is the updated order for your review. Please give particular attention to the following: Section 2: Face Coverings Required and Section 3: Exceptions to Covering Requirements. In addition, please reference the DOH FAQ link below for further guidance on face coverings.
At all GEARS activities, a face covering must be worn at all times, this applies to staff and program participants, whether indoors or outdoors unless you qualify for an exception in Section 3 of the Order. If you believe you qualify for an exception please contact GEARS to discuss. This is a legal Order under the Disease Prevention and Control Law, law enforcement officers are authorized to issue warnings or citations to anyone who does not comply with the Order. The Department of Health can also issue warnings and citations to businesses, persons, facilities, and organizations that do not comply. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
