About Senior Center
Who Are We?
The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center is an activity center for the well-elderly area residents over 60 years old located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 South Poplar Street, Elizabethtown. The Center is a service of GEARS and functions in cooperation with the Lancaster County Office of Aging. The Center has a large service area that includes the communities of Elizabethtown, Bainbridge, Mount Joy, Salunga, Landisville and Manheim. Door-to-door transportation is available for participants, as needed.
This program is funded, in part, under an Agreement with money allocated by the Pennsylvania Deptpartment of Aging and the Lancaster County Office Of Aging. A community service of GEARS.
Our Mission
Under the administrative auspices of GEARS, and in accordance with directives established by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Aging, the Senior Center will pursue the following goals:
- To enhance the dignity, independence, and community involvement of older citizens.
- To provide a support system of informational and referral services for those with specific needs.
- To provide opportunities for learning new skills, personal growth and the sharing of common interests.
