At Greater Elizabethtown Area Recreation & Community Services (GEARS), we are very proud to be recognized by the National Youth Sports Strategy as a NYSS Champion.
The National Youth Sports Strategy aims to unite U.S. youth sports culture around a shared vision: that one day, all youth will have the opportunity, motivation, and access to play sports.
The Strategy is based on research and best practices from the scientific community and successful youth sports programs across the United States. It offers actionable ideas for parents, coaches, organizations, communities, and policymakers to support youth sports participation for all.
Iddy Biddy Basketball
Bring your little tike out for a hoopin’ good time! Coaches will teach basic shooting, dribbling and passing skills. Fee includes a t-shirt. Ages 4-6

WHH Preschool Story Hour
On the 2nd Friday of each month come to Winters Heritage House Museum where little ones can journey back in time with engaging stories that will spark their curiosity about the past! With colorful pictures, songs, and easy crafts children will explore how people lived, worked, and played in early America. A tasty snack inspired by the month’s theme is included. Our story hour encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning while introducing young visitors to the wonders of the museum.

Iddy Biddy Creative Dance
An exploratory dance class for young children, focusing on encouraging self-expression, physical development, and creativity through music and motion. Class incorporates props like scarves, ribbons, and activities that engage children in imaginative movement. Emphasis is on fun, imagination, and developing a sense of rhythm rather than formal technique.

Iddy Biddy Gym Class Hero
This class is an intro to sports and classic gym class games. Help your little one develop their motor skills in a fun and encouraging environment! Players will learn new skills and develop athletic movements along with hand-eye coordination and teamwork. Emphasis on the following sports: soccer, football, basketball, gymnastics, obstacle courses and group games. Ages 3-6.

Iddy Biddy Indoor Soccer
E-town College Women’s Soccer team will teach basic soccer skills such as kicking, foot placement, dribbling, passing and trapping. Participants will start to become familiar with the game of soccer. Emphasis will be placed on social skills. Fee includes a t-shirt. Ages 3-5

Iddy Biddy Soccer
Coaches will teach the fundamentals of soccer. Players will learn new skills and develop athletic movements along with expanding their large and small motor skills. Emphasis on building self confidence and teamwork. Players will learn soccer through fun games and stations. Fee includes t-shirt. Ages 3-5

Iddy Biddy Tennis
Children will learn to play tennis quickly using large-sized RED balls and smaller racquets, nets and courts. The ABCs: Agility, Balance and Coordination will be developed. Led by Brenda McBride, EAHS head tennis coach.
