Summer Playground

Introducing our Summer Playground program designed to get your children out of the house and active in a safe, inclusive and supportive activity. Our dedicated rcjKBko9istaff are committed to providing a positive environment for all participants. Your children will learn new skills, become more confident, and make new friends. We will be following CDC and PA State Dept of Health guidelines to ensure your children are as safe as possible. Children must be accompanied to the playground site by a parent or guardian.

  • Who: Children ages 6-14
    (Children must be 6 years of age by June 13, 2022)
  • What: 8 weeks of organized FUN!
  • When: Mon-Fri, June 13-August 5 (no July 4) 9 am-12 noon

Fee: $70/child for the entire Summer!!

Only full time registrations will be accepted this year. Registration is limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis.

East Donegal Twp Summer Playground

Under the direction of GEARS, East Donegal Township will again offer a Summer Playground Program. Energetic and enthusiastic playground leaders will guide participants in active games, board games, sports, tournaments, arts & crafts and much more! Schedule of weekly activities will be posted. Check out this exciting program designed to fill your child’s summer with fun!

  • Who: Children ages 6-14
  • What: 8 weeks of organized FUN!
  • When: Mon-Fri, 9 am-12 noon, June 13-August 5 (No July 4)
  • Where: Fuhrman Park (Rock Point Road)

Fee: $90 for residents of East Donegal Township ($100 for non-residents)

Note to Parents: The Summer Playground Program is designed to provide activities for children and is not a substitute for childcare. Attendance is not mandatory or enforced. Be sure to inform your child of your expectations regarding attendance. Pre-registration is required.

Chemistry Camp

Calling all future and current Scientists! Investigate what a chemical reaction looks like, sounds like, smells like and feels like. Come join the fun of making your own ooey, gooey slime and your own reverse tie dye shirts. Discover how red cabbage changes color with acids and bases. You will also play detective and catch the person who stole the chemicals from the lab. Sign up today to find out why chemistry is the coolest science! E-town High School Chemistry teacher, Scott Baylor, will instruct.

Field Hockey Camp

Participants will be introduced to the game of field hockey and learn the basic and intermediate skills in grades K-3. More advanced skills and game concepts for grades 4-7 will be taught. Participants will need field hockey stick, shinguards and mouth guard (field hockey sticks will be available if you don’t have one). Fee includes a camp t-shirt.

CSI E-town

Do you like to solve mysteries? Do you like solving puzzles? If you answered yes to those questions then you should join us for CSI E-town forensics camp this summer. We will use REAL forensic techniques to solve mysteries. We will investigate fingerprints, unknown white powders, unknown ink samples and mystery liquids. Each day we will learn a new forensic technique and then use it to solve a crime. E-town HS Chemistry teacher, Scott Baylor, will instruct.

Discovering Dinosaurs

Students will travel far back in time and explore the world of stegosaurus, tyrannosaurus and raptors. They will identify basic body parts, habitats and diets of some of their favorite dinosaurs, all while practicing counting and colors, and having fun. Camp is taught by Snapology.

Girls Basketball Camp

Attention future Lady Bears Basketball Players! This camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game. Coaches will stress the basics of dribbling, shooting, passing, etc. Come ready to learn and improve. Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes. Camp t-shirt included in fee.

Track & Field Camp

Designed to provide an introduction to all aspects of track and field including but not limited to training for the events, rules of the sport, competitive strategies, equipment both for training and competing and nutritional needs and expectations. Camp will work on distance, jumping, throwing, hurdles, starts, sprints and relays. Participants will learn how track and field can prepare them for other sports. Camp t-shirt is included in the fee. Coached by Derrick McDonald, EAHS Varsity Track Coach.

Pokémania (Pokémon™ Inspired)

Come join Snapology for Pokemania! Students will build and explore the world of Pokemon as they create their own gyms, battles and even their very own generation of Pokemon. Children will also learn about real world science as they learn about the habitats of the Pokemon. your child will have a blast becoming the best Pokemon trainer ever.

Bears Basketball Camp

Join the Elizabethtown Boys Basketball Coach Lee Eckert & players for this year’s camp! Camp will focus on the fundamentals of basketball in a FUN, but competitive atmosphere (ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, rebounding, post moves, etc). Camp t-shirt is included in the fee.

Amazing Animal Robotics

In this Snapology class, your animal lover will create their own animal inspired robotic models. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas and much more. Your child is sure to have a wild time as they build, learn and play.

Pokémania (Pokémon™ Inspired)

Children of any skill level will learn the fundamentals of tennis using the RED Quick Start tennis balls. In addition to tennis skills they will learn agility, balance and coordination. All skills needed for improvement in any sport. Brenda McBride, PTR Certified Instructor, will teach appropriate skill and age level.

Beginner/Intermediate Tennis Camp

Participants will focus on building tennis fundamentals with emphasis on the FUN! At least two different courts will provide quality instruction for all skill levels. Boys Volleyball Camp

EAHS Varsity Coach Lamar Fahnestock will lead this camp which will focus on the basic skills of volleyball while combining individual drills, team drills and a team competition. This is an excellent opportunity to try a new sport or to get additional instruction if you have played before. Wear sneakers and come ready to learn and have fun. Camp t-shirt included in fee.

Girls Lacrosse Camp

E-town High School Girls Lacrosse Coaches will focus on fundamentals for the game for girls in grades 5-8. With the help of high school players, instruction will focus on cradling, scooping, throwing, catching and passing. Game play and competitions will also be included. E-town Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach, Katrina Shelly, will focus on fundamentals of the game for girls in grades 5-8. Kneepads are optional, but recommended.
